Adelman Travel Headquarters
COMMERCIAL RENOVATION
This renovation was an effort by Adelman to realign their environment to reflect their current culture and the way they work. The original building dates back to the mid-nineties, and was organized with cubicles in the center, and a perimeter of executive offices. This renovation would fundamentally shift the organization of the office, moving executives out of the private offices and incorporating them into the main ‘office floor’. Perimeter offices were then repurposed as a variety of flex spaces, including video conferencing, group meeting space, and lounge spaces with ‘soft’ furniture (sofas, lounge chairs) where people can go to get away for privacy.
Next, a new flagship conference space was created at the center of the office called My Garage, which can accommodate large client groups to diagnose client needs and create comprehensive business plans and travel strategies. The space has a large glass-paneled garage door that can be opened or closed depending on the meeting function, and hall space can be used as overflow space.
Finally, a new reception and lobby design was created to enhance the Adelman brand, anchored by a new frosted glass, metal framed feature wall, custom fabricated by Scathain. The wall was designed to evoke Frank Lloyd Wright leaded glass designs, but not blatantly copy it. The Adelman Family has had ties to Wright spanning three generations, with Wright designing several buildings for the family. The conference / flex perimeter rooms around the office were all renamed for prominent Wright-designed buildings.
